The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) VI signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) today, May 25, with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) VI on the provision of TUPAD assistance to farmers from Irrigators' Associations (IA) from the region.
This MoA will provide employment for farmer members to help cushion the impact of high fuel and input cost with an additional source of income granted by DOLE VI as requested by NIA VI.
A total of 1500 farmer beneficiares from 50 IAs across 35 municipalities from Panay and Guimaras will participate in the 10-day TUPAD Project.
