On July 5, 2024, the NIA Antique Irrigation Management Office participated in a significant environmental initiative by joining the annual tree planting event under the National Greening Program. This year's theme, "Sibol para sa Patubig ni BayaNIAn 2024," reflects the integration of environmental conservation with the community's collective efforts towards sustainable water resource management.
The activity, led by the Antique IMO, was in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of San Remigio, underscoring the importance of collaboration between government agencies and local communities in achieving environmental goals. The event was marked by a warm welcome from Honorable Nover Gillegao, the Punong Barangay of San Rafael, San Remigio, Antique.

Before the tree planting, Mr. Jay Mart E. Esquilarga, a licensed forester, provided a brief tutorial on the proper techniques for planting, to ensure efficacy and increase the likelihood of survival and growth. The site for this year’s tree planting was a two-hectare forest area, which was planted with 300 fruit-bearing trees. This effort aimed to enhance local biodiversity by introducing a variety of fruit trees that could support wildlife, contribute to the ecological balance of the area, and play a crucial role in watershed protection.
The "Sibol para sa Patubig ni BayaNIAn 2024" initiative underscores NIA’s dedication to environmental stewardship and sustainable development, benefiting both current and future generations in Antique.
