NIA-AIMO HOLDS 7TH SYSTEM MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING

July 30, 2024 - The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Antique Irrigation Management Office convened its 7th System Management Committee meeting for the year 2024 at the Farmers Training Center, San Jose, Antique. The meeting was attended by NIS IA presidents and representatives from various government agencies.

The 7th System Management Committee meeting was held to discuss and optimize irrigation management where it underscored the importance of coordinated efforts. Among the attendees were officials from the offices of PENRO and ENRO. Their attendance highlighted a comprehensive discussion about water and environmental management including the legal aspects and regulations of tree-cutting activities in the province. They also elaborated on their roles in issuing permits and ensuring compliance with environmental laws. In addition, the PCIC representative also provided information on Crop Insurance coverage for beneficiaries of the Rice Contract Farming Program.

A significant focus of the meeting was the scheduling of water delivery for the upcoming months. The Committee provided detailed information on the planned water allocation and delivery timelines, aiming to ensure efficient water use and support for ongoing and future agricultural activities.
