The National Irrigation Administration Employees Association of the Philippines (NIAEASP) led by its National President, Eduardo G. Yu, celebrated its 35th anniversary on May 25-27, 2022 in Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan.
The Anniversary, themed “NIAEASP: Staying United and Strong for the Good of NIA and Its Employees”, held a virtual forum for all members with Civil Service Commission (CSC) Commissioner Aileen Lourdes A. Lizada as the guest speaker.

This activity manifests this year’s theme, “NIAEASP: Staying United and Strong for the Good of the NIA and Its Employees,” as the employees joined together to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the compound in the threats of viruses and dengue.
NIA Region VI held a Photojournalism, Mobile Photography, and Basic Photo Editing Workshop in Negros Occidental on May 18-20, 2022.
The NIA Region VI Public Relations Team facilitated the conduct of the said workshop for Information Officers, Institutional Development Officers, Engineers, and other staff to improve their skills in photography and photo documentation of project progress, events, farming activities, and other NIA programs.

In order to bring out higher competence and capability, the Aklan-Capiz Irrigation Management Office in the province of Aklan held a two-day Interpersonal Communication Skills Training to its personnel on May 4-5, 2022 at the Aklan State University Review Center, Banga, Aklan.
Communication is a huge part of the industry, especially when working with team or members of the public. Developing good interpersonal skills can help support career satisfaction, hones one’s own abilities, and help in leveling up the agency’s services.
Water delivery for the wet cropping season started on May 1, 2022, to the service area covered by the Aklan River Irrigation System.
Prior to this, the Operations and Maintenance personnel of NIA Aklan-Capiz IMO removed garbage along the main and lateral canals to efficiently provide irrigation water to the rice fields.
Irrigation cut-off for the dry crop started on February 28, 2022, and was scheduled for the repair and rehabilitation of irrigation structures. This was also based on the agreement between the farmer leaders and NIA.
The Aklan-Capiz Irrigation Management Office programmed a series of training on High Value Crops (Vegetable Production) for the IA Model Farm located at Brgy. Jugas, New Washington, Aklan and in connection to the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) program. The training commenced on April 20, 2022 with beneficiaries from Jugas Irrigators Association, Inc. headed by IA President Salvador R. Villanueva.
The proposed PRBIDP located in the Province of Capiz has the following objectives; to ensure that the region is self-sufficient and to significantly contribute to the attainment of the country’s rice production target based on the updated Farmers’ Satisfaction Survey (FSS) Roadmap.
The project components are infrastructure development, institutional & socio-economic development.
The National Irrigation Administration Regional Office 6 attended the 1st Regional Convergence Team Meeting and Ceremonial Signing of the Regional Memorandum of Understanding of Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) Program on April 22, 2022 at Seda Hotel, Iloilo City.
The agency was represented by Engr. Rory F. Avance - Regional Manager A as the principal signatory. The EPAHP Program is the government's initiative of eradicating hunger and poverty in the country.
