The Public Scoping was held as a requirement for the application of the Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) of the said project. Lichel Technologies, Inc, the consultant taking on the Environmental Impact Assessment of the project led by Rachel Vasquez, spearheaded the activity. It was attended by representatives of the directly affected Barangays of Ugasan and Juanico in Barotac Viejo and Brgy. Bubon in Banate, Iloilo.

The National Irrigation Administration Region VI conducted a tree planting activity as NIA Anniversary Celebration’s Simultaneous Nationwide Annual Tree Planting Activity.

Trees. Water. Life. – Greening the Philippines the NIA Way, is the yearly theme of the activity. It is the goal of NIA to rehabilitate and maintain the water sources of its irrigation systems that deliver water to the farmlands in the province.

The Local Government Unit of Bago City Negros Occidental through its Mayor Hon. Nicholas M. Yulo, showed support to the farmers of the city by providing agricultural farm machinery to the farmers of Bago River Irrigation System (RIS). One (1) unit of hand tractor and four (4) units of pump and engine sets were turned over to the farmers of Bago RIS Irrigators Associations namely, San Juan Del Monte, GACKATAN IA, TAMBANA, MAPAGKASAMA BUSAY, AND BUFA IA.

In celebration of the 59th founding anniversary of the National Irrigation Administration, and in support to the National Greening Program, the Iloilo-Guimaras Irrigation Management Office joins the simultaneous tree planting activity with 1,500 trees planted.

The participants planted 1,000 Bugnay trees and 500 Brazilian Falcata seedlings.

To establish continuity of the restoration effort of the office, the planting site is in the watershed area of the Barotac Viejo Small Reservoir Irrigation System in Brgy. Nueva Invencion, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo.

THE NIA - NEGROS OCCIDENTAL IMO CONCLUDED A THREE-BATCH INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION TRAINING WITH A TEST BASED ON ZUNG’S SELF-RATE DEPRESSION TEST AND ENNEAGRAM PERSONALITY TEST.

THE SEMINAR GAVE THE NOIMO EMPLOYEES AN IN-DEPTH PERSONALITY ANALYSIS THROUGH THE ENNEAGRAM TEST AND HELPED ASSESS THEIR DEPRESSION SCALE.

In observance of the Second Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) 2022, the NIA Region VI conducted Earthquake Drill in the NIA VI Building in Tacas, Jaro, Iloilo City on June 9, 2022.

The drill was facilitated by the Fire and Earthquake Brigade headed by its designated Fire and Earthquake Chief, Verdin Paul Deocampo.

The NIA Regional Office VI with the participation of Iloilo-Guimaras Irrigation Management Office (IGIMO) and Jalaur River Multipurpose Project Stage 2 (JRMP 2), conducted a Blood Donation Drive on June 9, 2022 as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility facilitated by the Public Relations Team under the Office of the Regional Manager.

29 successful donors donated blood for the Blood Bank of the Philippine Red Cross Iloilo.

NIA Regional Office hopes to continue this activity as it recognizes the need for more blood to save more lives, especially during this pandemic.

The National Irrigation Administration Regional Office VI, the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples VI & VII, and the representatives of the Indigenous Cultural Community (ICC) Panay - Bukidnon signed a Supplemental Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) as part of the renewal of the Certification Precondition (CP) of the Panay River Basin Integrated Development Project (PRBIDP) last June 3, 2022 at EON Centennial Resort, Alta Tierra Village, Jaro , Iloilo City.

In sustaining Farmers’ Empowerment through Program Interventions, Office of the City Agriculturist of Bago, and National Irrigation Administration confirmed to twenty-five (25) farmer leaders from Lateral C BRIS IAs, Lateral B IA and Main Canal IA as graduates of the Farmers’ Field School (FFS) on Organic High Value Crops.
