Negros Occidental IMO led by its Division Manager, Engr. Isaias C. Melendez joins the simultaneous Tree Planting Activity in line with 59th founding Anniversary of National Irrigation Administration at Bago River Watershed, Brgy.Kumaliskis, Spur 19, Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental. Also present are representatives from Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Bago City, Don Salvador Benedicto Agro Forest Farmers Assoc. (DSBAFFA), Inc. and DSB Philippine National Police.

 

JULY 1, 2022 - A PUBLIC SCOPING WAS CONDUCTED FOR UGASAN JUANICO SMALL RESERVOIR IRRIGATION PROJECT (SRIP) IN BAROTAC VIEJO, ILOILO

The Public Scoping was held as a requirement for the application of the Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) of the said project. Lichel Technologies, Inc, the consultant taking on the Environmental Impact Assessment of the project led by Rachel Vasquez, spearheaded the activity. It was attended by representatives of the directly affected Barangays of Ugasan and Juanico in Barotac Viejo and Brgy. Bubon in Banate, Iloilo.

NIA REGION VI GREENS BAROTAC VIEJO WATERSHED

The National Irrigation Administration Region VI conducted a tree planting activity as NIA Anniversary Celebration’s Simultaneous Nationwide Annual Tree Planting Activity.

Trees. Water. Life. – Greening the Philippines the NIA Way, is the yearly theme of the activity. It is the goal of NIA to rehabilitate and maintain the water sources of its irrigation systems that deliver water to the farmlands in the province.

BAGO RIS IAS RECEIVE AGRI-FARM MACHINERY FROM LGU

The Local Government Unit of Bago City Negros Occidental through its Mayor Hon. Nicholas M. Yulo, showed support to the farmers of the city by providing agricultural farm machinery to the farmers of Bago River Irrigation System (RIS). One (1) unit of hand tractor and four (4) units of pump and engine sets were turned over to the farmers of Bago RIS Irrigators Associations namely, San Juan Del Monte, GACKATAN IA, TAMBANA, MAPAGKASAMA BUSAY, AND BUFA IA.

NIA-IGIMO PLANTS 1,500 TREES TO CELEBRATE THE AGENCY'S 59TH FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY

In celebration of the 59th founding anniversary of the National Irrigation Administration, and in support to the National Greening Program, the Iloilo-Guimaras Irrigation Management Office joins the simultaneous tree planting activity with 1,500 trees planted.

The participants planted 1,000 Bugnay trees and 500 Brazilian Falcata seedlings.

To establish continuity of the restoration effort of the office, the planting site is in the watershed area of the Barotac Viejo Small Reservoir Irrigation System in Brgy. Nueva Invencion, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo.

NIA REGIONAL OFFICE VI HOLDS BLOOD DONATION DRIVE

The NIA Regional Office VI with the participation of Iloilo-Guimaras Irrigation Management Office (IGIMO) and Jalaur River Multipurpose Project Stage 2 (JRMP 2), conducted a Blood Donation Drive on June 9, 2022 as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility facilitated by the Public Relations Team under the Office of the Regional Manager.

29 successful donors donated blood for the Blood Bank of the Philippine Red Cross Iloilo.

NIA Regional Office hopes to continue this activity as it recognizes the need for more blood to save more lives, especially during this pandemic.
