FARMER LEADERS COMPLETE FARMERS' FIELD SCHOOL COURSE ON ORGANIC HIGH VALUE CROPS

In sustaining Farmers’ Empowerment through Program Interventions, Office of the City Agriculturist of Bago, and National Irrigation Administration confirmed to twenty-five (25) farmer leaders from Lateral C BRIS IAs, Lateral B IA and Main Canal IA as graduates of the Farmers’ Field School (FFS) on Organic High Value Crops.

The 16 weeks FFS provided hands-on learning experiences on land preparation, seeding, transplanting, cultivating, and harvesting of organically grown vegetables at NIA Greenhouse in Dulao, Bago City. With such experiences, graduates are now excited to start their own vegetable farms with high hopes of a better income.

Present during the graduation ceremony is personnel from the Office of the City Agriculturist of Bago led by Mr. Carlito Indencia, City Agriculturist and staff of NIA-BRIS led by Engr. Sheila G. Perales.
