AKLAN FARMERS RECEIVE SOLAR POWERED IRRIGATION PROJECT

The National Irrigation Administration Aklan-Capiz Irrigation Management Office (ACIMO), through the management of ACIMO Division Manager Engr. Lorena B. Sioco, turned over Solar Powered Pump Irrigation System to Morales Irrigators Association on February 24, 2022 at Brgy. Morales, Balete, Aklan. The project was under Morales Ram Pump Establishment of Groundwater Pump Irrigation Project (EGPIP).

The event was graced by Punong Barangay of Morales, Hon. Jonise D. Ambrocio, Municipal Agriculturist Office Representative Mr. Christian Abayon, Morales IA Board of Directors, and NIA Irrigators Development Officers and Project-in-Charge headed by Engr. Julieta E. Gallardo.

Engr. Gallardo led the ceremony and passed the symbolic key of responsibility to the IA represented by their President Ms. Lilli Ann L. Lachica.

This Solar Pump Project delivers a huge benefit, especially to areas not being reached by the existing Communal Irrigation System of Morales. More or less 10 hectares are added to the IA’s service area of 65 hectares serving an additional 16 farmer-beneficiaries.

“Ang vision sang opisina sang NIA, ang mabuligan kamo nga mga mangunguma nga mag umwad ukon mag uswag ang inyong pagpangabuhi”, Gallardo expressed during her message to the IA.

“Amon kinyo nga ginapasalig sa NIA nga amon gid nga tinguhaon nga ma-utilize, ma deliver, ag ma maintain daya para sa mga maka benepisyo ko rayang proyekto”, Lachica answered as she accepted the association’s responsibility on the management and maintenance of the project in behalf of its beneficiaries.

Aligned to NIA’s vision and mission to increase farmers’ income and the country’s agricultural productivity, NIA ACIMO remains committed to serving the farmers through modern ways of irrigation such as this project.
